I have a 2014 Journey 40U and want to put a brake controller in so I can pull a 24 ft enclosed trailer. Is there a place or spot under the dash to pick up the wires. The coach has a 7 pin plug in back with a brake wire coming out of it but I’m unable to trace it up to the front to find the pickup point.
Any advice would be helpful, or does this model come prewired for towing a trailer.
Most Freightliner chassis come with the necessary wiring for a brake controller. There will not be a plug but the wiring will be bundled together. Look at and around the base of the steering column, the firewall in front of the pedals, under the dash and maybe even under the panel covering the sidewall.

I don't know if this would help or not - but I was told this week that you can get a Prodigy controller that you install on the trailer itself - not the tow vehicle. This was news to me, but apparently it's a thing.
