2007 horizon replace slide out bearing blocks

Hello I’m Sam, one of my bottom slide out bearing blocks is broken. Is there any way to replace without removing the entire slide? All 5 ( basement compartments are attached to the slide room and inner tube has a slot for hanger) have tabs that secure them to the outer tube. The top bearing block needs to be removed in order to replace the bottom ones. Thanks

What does a bearing block look like? Are you talking about the Teflon blocks? ...Maybe the Teflon triangle block/ramps?

And what 5 compartments are you referring to?

Please share your make and model and post some pictures.

What do your paint lines look like when the slide is closed? Are they alligned?

2007 Itasca Horizon 40KD . The driver side kitchen slide has 2 supports/ slide assemblies. The room slides out and lowers flush when fully extended. There are 5 high density poly bearing blocks on the outboard end of the support. They are all retained with tabs moulded into the blocks. It appears that they were installed as the room was built and they isn’t any obvious way to replace short of taking the entire room out.
Might try cutting the top tabs off with a thin hacksaw blade and hope the #8 screw will retain it ,doesn’t show much wear on the aluminum tube indicating minimal pressure on the top. I am new and haven’t learned how to move pictures to post. Thanks

My Horizon 40AD has the kitchen on the large-slide... driver's side.

I have a floor plan of a 40KD and see your kitchen is on the short-slide... passenger side. This slide is called an X-Slide because of its articulating arms; and there is a chain link that has been known to jump a tooth.

This being the case, maybe this information will be of some assistance.

Note: I have never repaired my X-slide so please keep us posted on how you do it.

I did find this video that may also be of help to you and others if you have chain link problems:

Take a look at this thread covering several years of Vectra HWH slideouts.

We had one of the Teflon bearing blocks along with the front triangular glide blocks on the living room slide replaced at the HWH factory in Iowa. The slide was not removed to replace them, however, our slide may be different than yours, but it does become a flat floor inside when extended.

There is also an HWH rep in Elkhart that replaced one of my nylon glides.

Are you planning to replace DIY, or take it somewhere?
