Hello,
With DTV coming in February, we are considering replacing the Sony's with LCD Flatscreens.
Does anyone have any suggestions on makes and models that standup to RV travel?
Thanks,

I have Samsung and Sharp and they both seem to be very good.

They should all do just fine if you secure the TV properly. Plasma TV's don't like the modified sine wave inverters but the LCD's don't appear to have the same problem.
We have an LG and a Target brand Tru Tech. They both have great pictures and they have held up very well, so far!

I'm using Visio's, 32 in the overhead and a 42 in the outside basement, both HD, I'm told if I were to open the Visio up I'd find LG componants inside. Who knows, they look great and have been taking the road abuse. The price is a bonas.

Al, have you looked inside your Visio? I have LG's in the overhead and the bedroom. I have looked at Visio for the outside but just do not have any trust in them yet. I also have LG's in my house ( had them their first, that is why I put them in the coach) no problems for 4 years.

We have a 42" Samsung LCD and a 22" Sony LCD and we haven't had any problems with either, even after many miles of bumpy highway driving.

No I have not had to open for any reason, I read that about the componants in a tech forum on some gadgat site, can't remember but I replaced the 50" LCD projection in the stick house bedroom with a 47" Visio HD hung on the wall, great picture and we gained about 22 sf of floor space in the room. We will be moving to our winter spot for snowmobileing season next week, I'll be taking the 42 out of the basement for the winter, the 32 will get a good test over the next 5 months, we use the coach every weekend thru the winter months. The key will be to warm up the coach before turning on the tv. There were times last year when we got to the camper it was 15 below in there. The good news is it warms up fast. I don't think you'd want to fire off an LCD at those temps.
Time will tell.
Al
