The genset screen on my Itasca Meridian located on the systems panel has a flashing hour--glass. My dealer service rep said it was a reminder to service the genset..change the oil/filter. Because I changed the oil/filter myself I asked him how to reset the flashing hour-glass. He said that information is not released to the customer. Wonderful. I suspect others on this forum know how it is done...anybody know the secret?

Me thinks he is pulling your leg. It flashes like that as an indication that it is working properly, the engine is running.
If the dealer rep was serious, I would now suspect his expertise on anything. Tell him that you know something he doesn't concerning the flashing hour glass, he's full of it.

um..... I don't think your dealer knew what he/she was talking about.

The hourglass symbol flashes when ever the hourmeter is accumulating time. I don't think this is an indication of anything else.

But, I could be wrong...

UPDATE: yep, your dealer is full of whoey. Onan says so! Be suspect of the charge for changing your tires over to "Winter Air" as well

Mine has been flashing since the day of delivery in 2001. The dealer tech told me it just incicates that time is being recorded. If there was a mal- function this is the area the code would show up in.

Having that hour glass is a good thing. If you are driving down the road and your wife decides to start the generator from the hall loacation it's almost impossible to hear if it's started and running, the hour glass is a visual signal that says it is running.
