Replace Pile Weatherstripping on Entry Door Frame

The pile weatherstripping around the main entry door frame is in need of replacement. I did successfully remove/replace the Lazy-T weatherstripping around the main entry door itself…piece of cake…but the pile weatherstripping around the entry door frame is another problem altogether. The original pile weatherstripping is no longer available but there is a new design available. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find out how to remove the old pile weatherstripping to replace it with the new design. Obviously, I didn’t study the entry door well enough before ordering the new pile weatherstripping. It appears to me that the only way to remove/replace the pile weatherstripping is to remove the entry door frame as the pile weatherstripping seems to be in a channel…but what an ordeal that might turn out to be. Winnebago suggested that I might cut the old pile portion of the weatherstripping away, then glue the new pile weatherstripping to the door frame…but I’m not convinced that would work satisfactorily. There should be a couple of photos, which I hope will help. Any helpful thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!
