Awning issue

Just started having an issue with manual awning. The up down metal hook on end is binding and also the left rail is binding and doesn't want to fall away from coach causing uneven left to right when pulling down. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It is 20 years old but was working fine. Thank you!

Awning hardware mfg? Coach? Year of Coach?

Our 2007 Journey is fitted out with A&E Manual awnings. We often camp in dusty environments. The little up/down lever and the spring caps respond well to flushing with mineral spirits, allowed to dry, followed by liberal application of silicone spray. As does the captured aluminum channel arms. Aluminum corrodes much more readily than most folks assume. We take a green 3M pad saturated with mineral spirits to ours, then silicone spray.
