Pulled off the interstate and started hearing some odd road noise. Checked my mirrors pulling into a Gas station, and saw the dolly tire all wobbly as it turned. Below you can see the cause.
My guess is that the spring holding the brake pad flat broke, the pad jammed the rotor, and the weight of my golf on the tire caused it to continue spinning while the hub stopped.
Removed the caliper and will put replacement studs in to try to get back on the road.

On a positive note, another RV'er saw me, and stopped to help with the disassembly, diagnosis, and plan of action.
RV people have been great; my equipment, not so much.

Replaced the studs and pulled them in with the nuts and a few washers. The originals were too long out of box, so I bought an angle grinder and cut them shorter. Two of the stud spots were cammed out and I had to get knurling a few sizes larger befoer the studs gripped the hub properly.
Special thanks to the staff at O'Reilly Auto Parts for being so helpful and getting the parts I needed overnight so we were only delayed by 8hr on our trip.

Glad it all worked out for you..I had a similar experience with my trailer wheel bearings ...that was due to severe lack of maintenance on my part. Its not fun when things fall apart when on the highway...thanks for sharing...
