Rincon Parkway (Ventura, CA) RV Trip Report

While most of us are catching up on home projects instead of RVing right now, here's a bit of inspiration for a future RV Trip. :-)

Looks amazing! I'm going to add it to my list of possible stops in the future.

Thanks!

Al, this is an amazing place. Park your RV right on the cliffs with the Pacific crashing below. Be careful if you go out on the beach Water comes right up to the rocks very quickly.

It really is an amazing place! We love the sound of the surf and the occasional Amtrak train. You are right...make sure the tide is out or you will be scrambling up the rocks!

We also grew up in Oxnard, so Ventura, Capenteria, and a Santa Barbara are very familiar to us...A chance to visit friends and remember the old times. :-)

Lucky you. I LOVE California. Lived in Woodlands Hills until the Northridge earthquake on January 17th, 1994 at 4:32am. But I do love visiting California.

I used to live in Port Hueneme and love Point Mugu. Can you camp in an RV there without being in the military?

Point Mugu does have a military base which offers camping for retired and active military personnel. I was referring to the Point Mugu State Park which is a California State Park located few miles south. It has two different campgrounds. Thornhill Broome Beach is the campground located on the beach. Like Rincon you parallel park to the sand, however, the beach is much larger and you are not parked right next to traffic. The other campground LaJolla Canyon is located across Hwy 1 and is located in a canyon. That is actually were the dump station is located.

Yes, great options, if you can fit. Note max trailer length is 31ft.

That is why we went from a 38' fifth wheel to a 34' motor home and now a 26' motor home with no tow vehicle. We travel 3 weeks per month from May through September so it works for us. It is rare for us to go to an RV park or campground except when camping at the beach.

That sounds like an awesome way to travel. I’m definitely envious of the places you can get into and I can’t!
