Boy theres alot of country between Iowa and Maine! I know before Covid I planned a trip from MO to Maine going through Ohio, NY, New Hampshire, Vermont. The trip was going to take about 4 week and it still was not enough time to see stuff.
But then going through Canada bring a whole other way to go and things to see.
I think what I am asking is could you give more info as to your time frame and travel path. Wisconsin and Michigan have lots to see but may not be on your path.
Thanks

About all I can help you with is via google maps you pass by Elkhart Indiana. It would be worth a stop at the RV/MH hall of fame. https://www.rvmhhalloffame.org/
Forgot about Davenport Iowa and the famous I80 truck stop. Its worth a stop

Auburn, Indiana is only about a 30 minute trip off I-80 ... if you’re into literal classic cars and other old historic vehicles, it's worth a stop. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is outstanding. The National Automotive and Truck Museum is also good.
Location: on a constant, around the country, trip!

Did that trip. Wisconsin Dells, Door County, the shores of any of the great lakes, Niagra Falls, upstate NY, Cape Cod, Acadia Nat Park, just to name a few. And I mean a few, every day a new great place to see. Take your time, enjoy the trip.
