CA to FL in fall 2021 - best month to visit

We are planning a trip from CA to Florida next year in the fall, and would like to make reservations for Disney’s Fort Wilderness as soon as I can. I am thinking about being there mid November. Is that a good time to visit Fort Wilderness in an RV? I don’t care about being there for the holiday. I am thinking more about temperature and crowds.
Thanks!
Al

Thanks, rk911. Is it very hot and humid in September?

We are also considering the following March, since we can take the southern route there and possibly a more Northern route home in May.

it can be...it's florida but we didn't find it inhospitable. crowds will almost certainly be larger in november. why not call disney and see what they say?

Yes, I’ve talked to Disney, but appreciate hearing the experience of real RVers.

well, i can tell you we experienced virtually no lines for anything at disney. weather was good...sunny and warm and i recall brief...<5-minutes...drizzle on some days in the afternoon. sept is also 'love bug' season. they don't bite but they mate in the air and make a grand mess on your windshield. if we ever go to disney again it would definitely be sept after labor day.

Hey Al, here’s the thing about Sept in the South, here in Texas today it was 96 degrees. We head for Colorado usually on Sept 1st and stay gone until the end of the month because Sept can be the hottest month.

We usually expect to return home to cooler temps and yet here we are on our trip home with 90+ degrees every day on the trip home.

October in Florida might be good?

March is rolling Spring Break all across the South. That would not be a better alternative. Starts in early March and continues until mid-April.

I wouldn't come down this way before October. We're in St. Pete. and the temps have been in the 90's with high humidity making it feel much warmer this past few weeks. I say this knowing that here in the coast we get some breeze that the center of the state (Orlando) doesn't always benefit from. It'll cool down a bit in October/ November. Also you'd benefit from missing hurricane season by coming a bit later in the year.

We have a place in Boynton Beach. I prefer it from October to March. Last time we went for Thanksgiving, and could still swim in the ocean. I believe that October would be best all around though for a fall trip.

Last year I was in Orlando in late Oct for 2 weeks with the RV and it was the most oppressive weather I have ever experienced. (Even the locals were complaining). I vowed never to hit Florida until Nov 1 again. Heading down again this year after spending Sept/Oct "up North" on the Jersey shore and slowing working my way down.

I'm not a traditional snowbird..I leave Florida for Minnesota after Xmas. But I do manage to start my winter on January 1st which is a good thing.

We lived in Orlando and I’d recommend November for slightly cooler weather.

We lived in St Aug. for 5 yrs and the best 2 months in the fall are Oct./Nov.
You will see a 20 degree swing between the high/low. 60/80, 50/70.
I’m not sure about south fla other than Jan. is the coolest month.
Hope this helps.
