On the View the steering wheel has arrows that display different info one is a vertical tube with wind symbols the tube is filled in from bottom to top indicating how full the DEF is

I find it easiest to keep 1 or 2 gals (walmart) and checking on dash indicator before starting out on trip if 3/4 or lower I add 1 gal . I avoid auto parts stores as most have gone to the 2 1/2 gal...
