Shakedown trip in our 2006 View 24J

We are in the process of the shakedown cruise and camp. Runs great but we are having problems with the slide.

Tell us a bit more about the problem as well as a bit about the experience you have with RV and slides?
If new, there are a number of things which are easy to miss, even if you've been RV folks for decades. Not all things operate the same.

I tried to download pictures from my camera this morning and found I now know nothing about their new methods! BAH!

Looks like you have slides with electric motors. Are you familiar with how to sync the motors as you operate the slide?

Greetings Steve and Susan,
The on-line Owner's Manuals for Winnebago Motorcoaches are found here:
https://www.winnebago.com/owners/own...s-and-diagrams
and for a 2006 View, here is that specific Owner's Manual. Section 10 discusses the Slideout Room.
Also, you can find the brochures for the View from this link:
https://www.winnebago.com/brochure
I might be that your model year is a 2008 View 24J, rather than a 2006 View 23J, and this might affect the ordering of replacement parts.
Welcome to the forum.

I'm trying to repair the system myself and need better directions than the owner's manual. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Steve,
Here is a site-search for:
2006 View slide
Maybe something in those old Threads might help?

But the problem with us giving better directions is that you have not told us much other than you are having trouble? To get into how to fix the trouble we have to know what kind of trouble it is you are trying to fix!

Step one is to verify which RV you have as the list doesn't match what you tell us?
The info is listed by year, type like Vista and then floorplan. If what you tell us is not listed, we have no way to know what you have!

But this is not an uncommon problem for newer users as RV are not like other cars! That can easily cause problems as the RV may be off by a year from when the chassis was built. The chassis may have been made in 2006 but the RV portion not made until 2007
To get the correct info, you may need to look in the manual for where to find the label and how to read it once there. Items 1,2,3, and 13 are critical when we need to get repairs or DIY as those give us the info on what we have and it may not be what you think from other places.

Right now, there is little way to lend advise as we don't know what you have nor what the problem might be???
Having trouble with the slide could be that it doesn't move or it ran over the dog, so we need more and better info!
