Outdoor enthusiast, finally got my base camp: 89 Chieftain 23RC

Iíve always wanted an old airstream or Winnebago and I finally found an affordable project. 1989 Chieftain 23RC; P30 w/ 454 at 62k for $1500!

I needed to bring and swap some wheels but otherwise it was sold as fit to drive homeóbut I didnít make it. Overheated about halfway and I noticed the electric fans on the radiator can moveóbut do not, so that will be my first ďplease helpĒ post soon. I hope itís that and not the whole radiator! I am not a mechanic, but Iím not afraid to watch YouTube and get dirtyóso I hope to be self-sufficient with this BBC!

I intend to fit my life into this little Base Camp over the course of the next year or so and sell my house. Between school and working, Iím done with this ďlifeĒ as weíre told to live it! Returning to the wild.

There is nothing more expensive in the world than a $1,500 33-year old motorhome.

Best of luck to you!

PS. Since yours is a Workhorse chassis you'll need specific Workhorse Chassis info. Go to this Workhorse Forum on
