Picked up our new 29V Sunstar Wednesday in Atlanta area and loved the coach.
Left Friday to head for home and unfortunately clipped a mirror in a very tight construction zone and broke mirror and passenger side front window. Good news no one hurt but now trying to get home. On a side note hard to believe but the breakaway mirror worked as designed however as it spun out of way it hit window. If it was a half inch smaller there would have been no contact with window. Seems poor design to me.
Headed home with temp mirror (working great) and temp plastic window cover (not so good). Temp cover is clear stick on plastic which upon reading says designed for storage. On first half of trip home had to stop several times to repair as it kept coming loose.
Has anyone had a similar situation and know of a better temporary fix? Will call auto glass companies and body shops on Monday to see what they can offer but hoping someone here has had this happen and knows of a fix.
Hi Nelsoncr,
Very sorry about this damage to your new motorhome. I know one bridge at Montesano (Washington) was under construction for 18 months, and oh boy was that narrow! I went really slowly through that zone, and I never worried about who I slowed-down behind me.
Please let us know how much this will cost to repair. I don't believe there are any shortcuts to this available.
Welcome to the forum.
