The XC 90 has a 5000 pound tow rating with 500 pounds on the tongue it has a pretty cool hitch that deploys when you need it and hides away when you don’t so you never know it has a hitch until you hit the button and Hitch comes out. I am going to wait for Land Rover to get a little more reliable, this is a new model for them so I’ll wait a year or two so they get the kinks out. It is a very capable vehicle very impressive abilities and we want to do some off-road driving into the back country in go where I’ve never gone before kind of like Star Trek

From Volvo:

Quote:
What weight can a Volvo XC90 tow?

5,000 pounds

The 2021 XC90 has three hardy engine options available, with the T6 and Recharge T8 Plug-In Hybrid both towing up to 5,000 pounds. When properly equipped, you may be able to tow a small horse trailer or a tent trailer. Regardless of your towing needs, the Volvo XC90 is equipped to take on the task with FWD or AWD.

Does the XC90 allow for weight distribution hitches? Not all unibody vehicles allow for these. I don’t want to be the guy pointing out problems, but I also don’t want you to waste any money.

Are you sure you can use a weight distribution hitch with the XC-90 and that hitch? Other import unibody SUVs and hidden hitches, such as the BMW X-5 prohibit using a WD hitch.

I’m reading that you cannot.

Generally, this should be covered in your Owner's Manual. Take a look in any section that covers towing.

I found the 2020 XC-90 Owner's Manual online. There is a warning that seems to preclude the use of weight distribution hitches.

Thank you for the insight I will have to tow it without the Weight distribution hitch. My SUV has auto leveling so hopefully that’ll help out thanks again I appreciate it I could’ve really messed up and done some damage or maybe killed somebody when or if the hitch ever snapped off the car thank you again for your help

Just copy the link over to a browser and add the [1].pdf to the end.

Again, I'm not trying to be a "downer", but I have to tell you I honestly think you'll be shopping for a new vehicle pretty soon. I'd bet a fair sum that the tongue weight is higher than 500 with just a battery and two full propane tanks. Unfortunately there just isn't much storage in the bathroom to balance the things you store up front (under the beds and over the beds). You're probably looking at 550-650 when loaded. While the air suspension will level the rig, it won't transmit much weight to the front axle. I'm guessing your steering is going to feel pretty light at times, especially over mid-corner bumps.

I wish you the best and hope I'm wrong, but I feel compelled to tell you this so that you won't be surprised.

How did the delivery and first tow go with the new 2108TB?

It went great I was told that I could not leave with the trailer because I didn’t have a brake controller,so I called the service manager at the dealer and he said that it is in the trailer towing package on my Volvo,I had him on speaker so the RV delivery manager could hear him. He said that he had to go and get more information,so about half an hour later he came back and said that I was good to go that he was very impressed with the car that he had never seen a car like this before and so I towed it home and it was easy we had a great time the car can tow it with no problem. It has a supercharged and turbo charged engine with an eight speed all-wheel-drive Heldex system. I truly like this car but if I were to change it I will get the new Land Rover defender.

Great! I'm really happy to hear it went well. Enjoy the new trailer! I really like that 2108TB floor plan.
