Xite infotainment issues

I have a 2016 Navion and have been having erratic issues with the Xite unit such as not easily turning on, appearing to be trying to reboot in a continuous loop, sometimes nav working fine for an hour or so then gets erratic. The different software components (camera, radio, Bluetooth, etc work OK if the unit in general is working.

Problem started around same time I had water contamination of the Jenson entertainment unit in the stairway attached to the galley wall. I opened it, dried it out, didn’t use for a week and it works fine at this point. Is there some connection between the Jenson and the Xite units that water contact in the Jenson could effect the Xite? Is there a wire connection from the Jenson to the Xite that could have come loose when I opened up the Jenson.

I will try to reset the Xite, may take the Jenson out (easy) to see if there is a loose wire, and may need to take out the Xite but will call them first. Any thoughts and help if very appreciated.

I am far from an expert on this, but I had similar issues and an update of the firmware on the Xite unit solved the problems. It also updated my maps at the same time. RiverPark (800-442-7717) has good customer service and was very helpful.

Xite issues followup

Solved totally all the erratic issues by finding the factory reset. Under settings, page 3, last item. Did the trick. I was ready to get destructive with the dash.

It’s important to download and install the RND Dock App on your home computer and routinely update the SD card that came with you Xite system.

This not only updates maps and points of interest but also provides software updates to your Xite system.

Here’s a link to the Dock app and it has the full instructions. You’ll need a SD card reader if your computer doesn’t have one. But a USB SD card reader is very inexpensive and easy to source.

Excellent Good to hear!

The removal/replacement process isn’t necessarily destructive (could be without the perfect mix of extreme caution, head scratching and floating out of a few inappropriate words), but it definitely reveals just which single piece of equipment the manufacturing process began with!

It’s a relic from yesteryear! Get a hands free CarPlay unit like Alpine f-259, or other with similar functionality. That’s what I did with my 2018 View 24J.

Creativepart, I believe that you gave me this same advice on a different thread a year or so ago. I tried all of that as you recommended and talked to the nice people at RiverPark. We never could resolve the issue. Had the dealer look into it, which was a complete waste of time. So I continue to use my Garmin because at least it doesn't continually freeze up or shut itself down.

On the bright side...the radio works ok.

Glad to hear that the OP was able to get theirs working properly.

xite infotainment issues

to Perlasteve.....you had more success with the reset and updates than I did. I tried all that including purchasing the updated SD card for the Nav system.
Worked OK for less than a week then went completely dead. Eventually had to swap out the whole system replaced with a Kenwood RVS-775 Media NAV system.

I have no power my xcite radio and nav unit. On another thread, it was recommended I try F55/2 block nbr 10. The fuse is fine. I am wondering if since this is not a Mercedes installed factory radio, is there another fuse somewhere I should be checking? It does not work even with the Radio Power button on. Currently on a road trip and i have no nav system or back up camera. This all happended after my local MB dealer installed a new battery before my road trip. I am wondering if he did not hook up something right, everything else in my MB and Winnebago works fine
