Spouse and I have owned several RVs over the last twenty years. We discovered early on to avoid the big RV dealers for any service whatsoever. Yes, as others have reported, scheduling service is much, much too slow. But worse, when any of those provide service, the results are usually below any reasonable standard of quality such that one often has to return for corrections to their work. Our best move has been to find a competent independent RV repair facility and treat them like family.
Worst example: We purchased a new Holiday Rambler from General RV here in Florida. When we went to inspect it for delivery, we found a four (4) inch hole in the upper right sidewall, just below the awning AND the generator would not start. General wanted us to take this new RV to an Onan facility for repair (which we refused as the vehicle was not yet delivered). Then General took weeks obtaining Holiday Rambler authorization to repair the sidewall on this new undelivered vehicle. The whole process was a genuine nightmare.
More problems surfaced later and we sold the RV three (3) months after delivery. As the reader may imagine, both Holiday Rambler and General RV are forever off our radar.
As far as the cost of parts, we have found Camping World to be guilty of over pricing virtually everything they sell.
It is no wonder many folks turn to Amazon......although even here, the actual price PAID, after factoring in the cost of shipping can sometimes be greater.
You pays your money and you takes your choices.....
