Murphy Bed

I have a 2018 2108 DS and a 54x74 mattress from factory. We have now found that the bed itself is sagging in the middle. It’s now out of warranty. Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

Is the issue the mattress or the support underneath?

Hi thanks for replying. It’s the support not the mattress. The Murphy bed support is sagging and wowing in the middle.

Hmm, I don't have one in my RV but do in my house. It sounds like maybe the platform needs some beefing up. plywood reinforcing a possibility?

I think I found a picture of the bed set up. When the bed comes down you have to fold the backs of the seat down and the bed rests on them. If that's correct how much room do you have between the bed frame and the back of the chair?
I would come up with either wood or square metal tubing (make both look good) attach about mid bed. This would have to cover the width of the plywood to work. Bolt through the frame of the bed, I think for your application steel tubing would work better. The down side is when the bed is down the brace installed will dent the backs of the chairs. Hope this helps or at least gives you some ideas

Is bed sagging common in a DS; would like to hear from other owners as I'm thinking about purchasing a 2106DS.
