How not to descend a long grade

Riding the brakes has consequences.

As Ace Ventura once said "Like a glove!"

I constantly have to remind the DW that riding the brakes going downhill is not the best way, and that she should be using the transmission to slow down in a non emergency. She loves to drive close enough to people that I can read the expiration dates on their plates, so it's a white knuckle ride already, and then to look over and see her foot on the brake pedal gets me even more worked up.

Yup! Sometimes they just won't take any advise!
My wife finally got the picture when we were in Colorado and she drove to a casino parking lot!
We were in a van and it bounced really hard when she pulled up to the parking block and the brakes were totally gone!
I had tried to explain the truck ramps for stopping trucks without brakes but she never thought that meant her!

She got the most amazing look on her face when she turned to me.
You mean I don't have any brakes?

It also required new brake rotors when we got home!

I am master of the house, whatever my wife says shall be done.

Or, I am master of the car, whatever my wife says shall be done.

The maker of that tow bar and base-plate should be proud. Did a 180° slide and the car never broke loos even after striking a pickup..
