Adding Vinyl Plank Flooring to 2010 Suncuiser 37F

We have. 200 Itasca Suncruiser . 37f with 3 slides. One of the slide on drives Sid is a full slide. The other two, 1 bedroom and 1 across from tv console. My question has anyone put in the plank flooring and how did it work out. I have been told that the skids would scratch the flooring since the slides slide instead rolling. Any suggestions? Or just replace the carpet with an indoor/outdoor carpeting. Thanks in advance.

The previous owner had plank flooring installed in our motor home except the slides and bedroom. Yes many times the slides mark the flooring. There was a slide bar or glide bar for the living room slide which the slide would glide over to prevent the drag. I replaced this bar with four rollers which I installed with the slide all the way extended. I removed the rubber gasket and maybe another item to do this. The front end of the slide had damaged the flooring of which, I haven't repaired yet.
Recently, I removed the bedroom carpet and installed a different color plank flooring. It looks very good.
I assume you have a 2000 Itasca. Ours is a 2002 Holiday Rambler.

Make sure you are using glue-down flooring and not a floating floor. The previous owner of our unit made that mistake. You may also have to make an adjustment on your slide rollers because the new floor is thinner.

Aaron, not to correct you, but if the installer follows the instructions, the floor will float. However, following the instructions the installer caulks the perimeter of the flooring witch holds the floor from shifting.

They did. However, the pressure from the slide rollers and the twisting motion while traveling caused it to pop apart.

I understand. I need to figure out a way to fasten the one piece the slide pulled loose before I installed the rollers. Being where it is located makes it difficult.
