A More Colorful RV World?
I look around our camp ground, and I see a sea of white boxes with swirls on the side. Ok, 1 or 2 bronze colored boxes also. But really, where's the color?
Has anyone repainted their rig, more like one might paint a car?

White reflects heat, black does not?

My Winnebago is blue, something they discontinued in 2020. There were two 2106DS's on closeout at different dealers, one blue one red, and since I have a blue truck I went to the dealer with the blue one. Based on that I assume my resale value will be lower, and the fact that both these were on closeout probably indicates colors are less popular with buyers.
I agree with the heat comment. I'm not terribly worried about that though because I try to find shaded spots to camp, but it will be an issue at times. FWIW, I considered that issue when re-roofing my house and when painting it. I can't believe how many people go with really dark roofs. Attics get hot enough in the summer, you don't need to make it worse by installing a black roof.

"...great point!" Touche!
My 1706FB is the Winnebago O.E.M. Candy Red (love it...but you make a good point) if I/we ever wish to move onto another unit..(unlikely) I might just choose an all-white with minimal graphics..but..we haven't seen much 'sweat' in having a totally Red carcass either.

My mom had horses airbrushed onto the sides and rear of her motorhome.

You can buy a liberty coach and have TAOD do a one-off a kind paint job for 200k just for paint. Lol

I wanted to do my fire station (Company 2) I was member for 36 years and company officer for almost 20 yrs. But my DW ended that idea quickly so I had to settle for my department badge in a sticker on my window. She did let me get our enclosed trailer in fire engine red....lol

Just make sure you keep the roof white since that is the surface that would matter the most.

Although my 2005 Winnebago Adventurer 38R is 15 years old it doesn't look dated and it still looks like it's a current design. I love the combination of light metallic colors and the design which doesn't show the dirt until its really dirty. When I was looking for a Suzuki Grand Vitara to tow, I had to find the closest color to match the coach. I also have a Suzuki Samurai in the same color to tow. The current trend of dark colors is worrisome because of the heat they retain and here in the Southwest that can mean a deterioration of the clear coat and damage to the fiberglass. I think Winnebago hit it out of the park with this color combination.
From the Arizona desert near the Petrified Forest National Park, to the White Mountains near Alpine, Arizona, to the forest of Renton Highlands, Washington, the Adventurer still looks pretty clean after many miles and a few weeks on the road.

Today’s colors seem more muted and “boringly similar” than some older offerings. When we first saw our current rig, nicknamed “Red Sky”, in 2018 we were turned off. “Too bright” we said. “Not our sedate, senior image. We’ll stand out too much in the campgrounds we visit about 8-10 months each year.” But we liked everything else so well we decided to go for it in the hope that it would GROW ON US. Boy! Did it!! We get many compliments. I guess the new colors are a result of what sells. Maybe you should look for an older model. Ours is a 2014 Itasca Cambria 30J, “CRIMSON” exterior.

Painted decals
We painted some of our faded decals to add some color. It kinda 'pops' now. Below is a 'before' picture, and a 'photoshopped' version (sorry I don't have an actual photo of the 'after', but the third photo shows the front with gold stick-on Winnebago letters.

Just today I saw a nearly all white Class A with a beautiful waving U.S. flag motif on the sides. Couldn't tell the make of the motorhome and I highly suspect the flags were a one off paint job.
Probably cost a bunch, but it sure looked good!

After being on the road a week, what I noticed is that all the vinyl "swirls" on RVs have become boring and cliched. I think that's the aspect of the exterior I like the least - "Oh boy, look at the swirls on THAT one!"
I'll be putting this paint thing off until I get the ride sorted out.
