2023 Micro Minnie 2108DSj spare tire
I was curious who the manufacturer is of the spare tire on a 2023 Micro Minnie 2108DS. I know that they use Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on the trailer. But is seem to remember reading that the spare tire is not a Goodyear.

The tire they used prior to making the switch to Goodyear was Westlake, a Chinese made brand, which I think is generally regarded as one of the best Chinese tires. If the spare is not a Goodyear, more than likely it’s a Westlake. OEM Westlakes on my 2021 2108DS have held exceptionally well for 3 years and 12,000 miles. They still show no signs of wear or weathering. Good for another year at least.

I have a 2018 MicroMinnie 2108 DS and the tires I have are Goodride not Goodyear. I have five years on these tires and about 3000 plus miles on them and they still look OK. I am planning on replacing them this spring when I get my camper out of storage.

The OEM Westlake ST235/75R15 tires on our 2021 2108DS have done very well for 3 years and 5,000 miles. Considering replacing them before an upcoming 2500 mile trip and I'm having trouble finding this Special Trailer size. Discount Tire has ST225/75R15 which would spin them just a little faster and with the smaller diameter would sit about .3" lower. They have a little narrower footprint, the 235s being 9.25'' wide, the 225s are 8.86'' for a difference of 0.39''.What do you think? Should I look harder for the 235s?

Why switch now?
Are the tires showing any signs of wear?
I think the Westlakes are better than your average China bomb.
Our looked great after 3 years and 12,000 miles. Repacked the bearings at 10,000 miles, but nothing done to the tires. They look as new. But I probably would have replaced them at 20k miles with Goodyear Endurance. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I would look harder. Also be sure to check for the correct load range. Quite often a small tire has a lower load rating.

Thanks Aaron, I will look at the load ratings. ...
These are the GOODYEAR ENDURANCE specs:
ST225 /75R15 117N E1 BSW, so at twice the money I get a tire that is rated for 2833 lbs, 10 ply, max inflation of 80 PSI and up to 87mph.
The current Westlakes were made in France, are rated for 2340 lbs at 50 psi, 6 ply, and speed up to 75mph. I have to see what the pressure on the Goodyears should be for the lower load I have on the trailer. And I have more research to do. Thank you for the prompt Aaron!

I misstated the price comparison.
eTrailer has the direct replacement Westlake ST235/75R15 for $272 each, they are rated for 2910 at 65psi, 75mph, load range D - 8-ply.
Discount Tire has the Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 for $199 each.
I have not found any information from Winnebago about using this alternate size tire on my Micro Minnie, but I'll bet all their testing was done only with the Westlake tires.
