Anyone with a dual axle carry a 2nd spare? A couple friends with trailers recommend a 2nd spare, as both have had or seen cases where the front tire blew and took the rear tire along with it. Not sure I see a need for shorter trips, but thinking on ~3+ hour drives and/or really long distance trips I might want to consider taking a 2nd spare.
Any pointers to where/what to get? I'm not entirely sure how to find what I want, is it just a generic rim/tire from tirerack or something?
It has been very rare that I have read or maybe never of a back tire being taken out by a front tire failing. I have been pulling an RV camper for 5 years and have never carried a second spare. I use Goodyear Endurance tires and a good TPMS system.

You would be better off spending your money on tire pressure monitoring system for your trailer tires.
The TPMS tire temperature / tire pressure alarm will go off and give you the ability to pull over, before you have a catastrophic trailer tire failure that would have a chance of taking out multiple tires.

I have the same concern, and have pulled trailers for many years, just not an RV. We have tandems on ours and we take it off road quite a bit. I was concerned as well about a second spare and I must say thank you to Bigbird for the link, added to my cart!
