A/C woes in 2022 Micro Minnie 1808FBS

Hello group!
new here, bought my first Minnie last November and aside from a few isssues, I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm posting this today to address one of my major concerns though.
in July while camping in St Augustine Fl. on a very hot day, my AC started leaking water back through the intake filter. when I shut off the unit all the water being held up by the suction of air dropped on the floor like a wall of water.
I'm guessing a clog in the drain pan. But my more upsetting concern is that when I removed the filter cover and looked up into the cavity the unit is mounted in I can see bare 2x4's and bare wood. I'm sure they left something off the unit at the factory.
every camper I've ever owned has a flashing of some sort covering the wood framework of the camper ceiling.
It is at the dealer for warrenty repairs and the guy who is working on it is trying to tell me that's the way they build them. I;m sure this isn't true.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I've not looked at one in a very long time but since the water is supposed to drain outside and this area is not normally exposed, I would not expect it to be water proofed?

Unless things have changed, every camper I’ve ever seen has a metal flashing covering the wood in the opening where the AC unit mounts to the top of your camper. Whether moister is supposed to be there or not it’s not uncommon for there to be leaks here. The seal can get loose and leak or as my situation looks to be the drain pan is clogged.
Either way, moister and bare wood are a bad combination for a variety of reasons. Mold , rot, etc.
This looks s how it should be treated.
