Winnebago View T1N Engine Cooling

What temperatures does your 5 cylinder T1N run at. Mine will get up to halfway to the red 250 deg. mark climbing hills but has never overheated. It cools down quickly when going back down. It has almost 101,000 miles on it. Have always done all the required maintenance on the engine. It's pretty much done this since we bought it in 2007.

On the highway it runs from the 180 mark to the mark above 180 (215 deg). I have been told the marks indicate 35 deg increments.

I have the same model and am experiencing the same thing. I was also wondering if this was normal. Have you found anything out?

If you join up over at Sprintersource they have a very active T1N forum. That said, while I don't have a T1N but I have a NCV3 loaded to 11K and on the hills it can get to 230F, and the oil can go to 250F and sometimes more. Leaving the AC off helps. I monitor mine with Torque Pro. Coming down the other side the coolant comes down pretty quick but the oil is much slower to cool back down, which is to be expected. Normal driving temps are about where yours are. 250F on coolant is pretty high but since you are using the factory gauge with estimated graduations I am guessing it is not accurate.
