Portable solar panels....

We are trying to decide between the heavier foldable panels and the lighter weight foldable panels. We have a 90W Zamp panel with aluminum frame and legs, that we use to keep the batteries of our boat and trailer up at the storage yard, that has been great. But the weight of the foldable panels is about half. We will use a regulated line from the panel to charge our battery, and an unregulated line to charge our Bluetti portable power source. I can accomplish this on the Zamp by taking a pigtail off the input to the controller for the unregulated line.

We had a 120W Zamp folding panel, two hinged 60W hard panels, weighed 30+ lbs. I thought it was a PITA to store and deploy. Ended up separating the panels and mounting them on the roof of our Micro Minnie. The one positive trait I can think of was that it was heavy enough that wind didn't bother it.

I can't comment on the pros and cons of the lighter weight panels since we don't have any.
