Tank heater install question

Hi folks,
I am installing a tank heater for my 24J Navion (2019). Not sure on the wiring here. There is one lead on the RV side but 2 leads from the pad (see images). This is for the grey tank. I can't see what's happening on the black tank without taking down the pad which I don't really want to do. The red wire is power but not sure if the white is a ground lead and if so where does that go?
Thanks
Dave

There are two leads from the RV. I can't tell in your pic because it is blurry but it looks like there are two wires in that sheath, one copper colored and one silver colored, if they are not visible peel back more sheathing. It looks like a zip cord, you should be able to just pull them apart to gain more to work with. To check polarity on the leads from the RV use a multimeter. It might work no matter how the polarity is but if there's a thermostat in the pad, and there usually is, I'd probably verify correct polarity.

Is that wire coming from a switch?

Hi Aaron,
Yes there is a single cabin switch that operates grey and black tank heaters. I cut down further on the tube and found the second lead. I confirmed the voltage and correct polarity with a voltmeter and then was able to connect the heating pad wires.

Good deal! With some of these units, you never know what you are going to find. Our new to us Meridian has several switches that don't switch what they are supposed to. I have to assume that either someone messed in the panel, switched the bezels, or it came from the factory that way.
