Hood bracket on 2019 Sunstar fell off

Bracket holding the hinge on Sunstar motor compartment fell off. How to attach the metal bracket to fiberglass front of motorhome. Winnebago says grind off old epoxy, then apply special epoxy and clamp. Unable to get this epoxy. No RV repair will make the fix. Trying to see if body shop will be able to do the job. Original factory epoxy should have held! HELP!

Many folks bolt the brackets through the surrounding body (many threads about how to do this this) Others grind the old epoxy off and use new epoxy. I went the grind off and new epoxy route and its held well for about 5-6 years now. I've been using JB Weld but it is essential that the old epoxy be thoroughly ground off. Here are a couple and there are more out there.

Skip the grinding and hoping the adhesive works. Get some stainless hardware and fix it once and for all. With a drill and second pair of hands this takes 30 minutes for both sides. You won't even notice the button head hardware with all that fiberglass real estate.

Front hood bracket fix

We have a Sunstar 29VE Class A and the same. thing happened to us while we were traveling.......my son made a bracket and pop riveted it on. Never really noticed the difference. It's not apparent from the front/top of the RV. It's lasted 2 years and no sign of wear at all. We're in Western NY and the cold can be a consideration.

Fixed better than new. Epoxy would not stick to painted bracket so the bracket fell off. Body shop ground off the paint, applied new epoxy and then bolted the bracket the fiberglass front.
