Driver maplight
In my 2004 Suncruiser there is a maplight above and behind the driver seat. I can not find, anywhere, a switch to turn it on. There is a similar maplight over the co-pilot seat but it has a switch. Can anyone suggest where I would find the switch?

Mine works off of the headlight/dashboard dimmer switch.

Maybe the dimmer switch for the dash lights. That's how my coach works.

Give that a try because mine works the same as the others have mentioned.

In all likelihood it has 2 switches that both need to be in the on position for the light to work. One is on the top of the light and the other is the dimmer switch. We always leave the one on the top of the light in the on position so we only have to turn the dimmer switch to make it work.

Nope. No switch on light anywhere. RV is currently in the shop for refrigerator repair so unable to confirm that maplight works from dash light switch.

I want to say thanks to those that provided the headlight dimmer solution. My Newmar on a Spartan chassis was setup up that way. I have been searching for how to turn the map light on for a year now.
My dash actually has a separate dimmer control for the dash lights but the headlight switch was the old combo type where you adjusted dash lights and then the dome light when turned all the way.
Turning the headlight all the way and making sure the map light switch was on was the secret combination.

While we are on that subject, a friends motorhome couldnt keep his batteries from going dead, he later found that his dimmer switch was left on, and put a constant drain on the batteries. Gale

I had issues with mine not working and decided to run a new wire and switch and works great. But a time later was doing wiring on my mirrors and found that they cut and cap the wire. I guess the po had to many battery run downs.

My map light worked the same way, which was a pain if the driver's seat was turned around and light was needed. I added a switch to be able to turn on the light while the seat was turned. Just find the ground and add a switch to a separate ground and you have control.
Good luck,
Dave

Oh thank goodness, I'm not the only one that couldn't figure the map light switch out. After having this coach for a year, I finally caved and asked on the forum too. LOL!
