Where is the 'splitter cable" and how do I access it?

So wife and I are staying at an RV resort long term, and want cable/internet. Verizon came today, but left because the "power was too strong coming in" and they needed to find the Splitter to be able to provide service.

Where is the splitter, and how do I access it?

thanks in advance.

Why wouldn't they just "pad" it at the service connection?

Your Vista could have a home run sat grade (RG6) coax run from the External Sat TV jack in the basement to a wall jack in the cabinet where a sat. receiver would go. I know all the nicer equpped Vistas that became Vista LX models in 2016 have this. All the more bare bones versions of the Vista that stayed Vista in 2016 do not have this.

This would work perfect for the Verizon installer to run coax directly from outside the RV to a Verizon inside box, thru your cable/shore cable/etc pass thru door in the basement compartment that has the jack.

The TV jack in the basement runs to the back of a wall plate that has a small button that you use to switch between your roof TV antenna and the Basement TV jack. There's no splitter between the basement TV jack and where the Basement TV jack coax connects to the back side of that inside jack. The installer could un-screw that jack get to the basement TV coax by removing it from the back side of that jack.

Good luck.

You could just install a pad on the input of the cable jack at the utility bay, or- before the verizon device inside your rig. Did you make sure the amp button was off when the guy got there? Cable tv guys know how to work with this.

The Verizon guy said the power coming in was too strong? Is that his cable, yours doesn't provide power to cable.

All he has to do is hook to your external cable connection.

But, he may be reading the line voltage, and you may have a power booster for over-the-air TV signals that needs to be shut off for a cable connection to work.

Just something to consider.

Incoming signal vs power spiltter

You do not have to access the splitter at all. Simply order from Amazon the following

https://www.amazon.com/Parts-Express...s%2C154&sr=8-3

It is an attenuator and is really common and cheap. While you are at it get a 3db, 6db, 10, db and 20 db units. This cover all ranges of problems.

Now how to use: Insert this into the coach incoming TV line and attach the other end to the CCTV line to the coach. That is all there is to it. If I am too late then someone else may benefit.
