Broken Journey Entry Door Handle

My 2005 Journey 36G has a broken entry door handle. The outside handle swings loose and no longer is connected to the inside handle and latch mechanism. Has anyone repaired this problem without replacing the entire unit? And also I've removed the inside door skin and don't see an easy way to remove the unit from the door and disconnect the electric lock/ unlock circuit wiring. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

The only way now to enter when the door is closed is by laddering the drivers window, squeezing through, using the inside door handle, and then convincing any onlookers that it really is our coach.

There's a thread here that talks about the adjustment of a a nut that will re-engage the outer door handle. https://www.winnieowners.com/forums/...en-306931.html Good luck.

Well,
I wonder if the OP is still having a problem. So many ask questions on an issue they're having and never get back to see if there's been some help directed to them. It won't do any good to send an answer if the person never returns to check.

Like sending a text?
I often think of it as like shooting arrows in the dark. You never know if you hit anything if they don't yell!

My settings are such that I get the first reply to any thread I have posted on via email. Hopefully, he saw that or found a solution elsewhere. Either way, this might help someone down the road.
