Been rving for over 40 years and have owned 300 Cummins, 6.8 ford and now GM 8.1. I do not believe I have touted one over the other, mearly pointed out that the V10 is very capable of doing the job...

The red line (rev limiter) is set to engage at 5350 rpm with transmission in gear. When in neutral it will engage around 2000 rpm.

Peak horsepower for your V-10 is 362 @ 4750 RPM and there is no reason not to use it when climbing grades. It may get noisey in the cab but its better than lugging and possibly overheating the...
