We have been having the drain / freeze problem also . Maytag/ Whirlpool has a fix ...a P Trap drain tube that replaces the open tube and duckbill grommet.(The grommet is where our blockage occurs)...

I had a 2004 Mini Winnie with the same switch It was part of the prewire package for a satellite antenna. It supplied 12 volt power to a spot on the roof were the sat antenna would be installed.
