New 22R Owner

Hello to all, we are new to Winnebagos, motor homes and this website.

We have camped for 35 years, first with Coleman pop-ups, then a Layton bumper pull that we bought new and had for 14 years. This year we bought a 2018 22r. Ours has a V10 on a E350 chassis.

I say "it's the smallest camper I want to stay in and the biggest motor home I want to drive."

So far after a total of 3 weeks+ staying in it, we love it. It took a little while to get used to the corner bed, but quickly we adapted to it.

No major grief yet. Hopefully we never will have any trouble. Heaven knows they have had plenty of practice making them!

I installed a 5 Star tuner right away, it took a couple of programs, when they realized this V10 is a 2 valve motor, the tune worked like I wanted. With my ScanGuage II, I am getting 9.9-10 mpg on average. Better than my pickup (F150. 5.4) pulling our 5500# travel trailer.

My wife and I play in a couple of bands, so playing guitar around the campfire is a given.

I have 8 motorcycles, including 4 classic Kawasaki triples from the early '70s.

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to get answers to questions and to help others! Everyone is very friendly and kind. You may want to complete your signature by including the model of your RV. I also play guitar and am learning how to play the ukulele. No motorcycles though...wouldn't mind having an ATV to toodle around in the desert...just no room for any more toys as we already haul bicycles and kayaks around!
