Hi all New Here - Info on 1994 Adventurer 29RQ

Hi Everyone,
I'm Jade. My husband and I are new to the RV world. We haven't actually purchased yet have been trying to get some info and can't find it anywhere. We are looking at a 1994 Adventurer 29 RQ. It belongs to friends. Is in great shape, only 68,000 miles. However we can not figure out how much it weighs. They don't have that anymore. Running the Vin only gives us the max weight of 14,001-16000. Any help would really be appreciated. We need to know this for parking purposes

Greetings Jade_zo,
For the 1994 Adventurer 29RQ:
From the Brochure, I see these maximum chassis weights:
  • Ford Drivetrain = 15,200 pounds
  • Chevrolet Drivetrain = 14,800 pounds
So this would be the maximum fully-loaded weight for the motorhome (depending upon the drivetrain.)
Will your friends allow you to take the motorhome out for a test week-end camp-out before you buy? It might be good to know if something this size is what you really want, and also to know what still works after 30 years.
Before you pull-out your checkbook to buy, please remember to add-in the cost of items which probably have aged-out at this time, such as tires & batteries.
Welcome to the forum.

While it will certainly not give you the loaded weight as we all load differently, there should be a label next to the driver which gives weight rating as built.
Owners manual explains the details here:

What you add to it or change is hard to say?

There should be a sticker to the left of the steering wheel on the side wall or the door.

Thankyou. Those are all very good suggestions, which we will definitely look into. I appreciate the time you took, I wouldn't have thought of those things.

Buying a 29 year old RV can be full of challenges at the best of times. Buying an old RV from FRIENDS can be really good or really bad and can certainly sour a friendship.
