Quick Connect Fitting

New to RVing but come from the perspective of living on a boat for the last 8 years. Bought a 2023 Minnie 2630 MLRK travel trailer. It has a quick connect fitting for a hose/washdown just aft of the outdoor kitchen and a hose with a spray head that plugs into it. The male sprayer hose fitting doesn't seem to want to connect to the female fitting on the trailer. I've got to be missing something easy. Appreciate any help.

We just had a question about this last week. I had the same problem. Used a little WD-40 on the male and female components of the quick connect, plugging them in and out a few times and haven't had a problem since. Apparently they get finicky after a period of non-use and need a little TLC encouragement!

Make sure both handles are turned off so there’s no pressure on it. Also, it is sometimes better to pull the sleeve on the hose end back then release it after it’s pushed over the fitting.

Problem solved. The female receiving end of the fitting was out of round just enough to prevent the male end from engaging. I dilated it with a cut off nail set and now it slides in and seats as it should. Must have gotten dinged on the original install.
