Norcold Reefer Drain
Just bought a 2020 Winnebago Sunstar with a Norcold reefer/freezer. All other reefers I have owned have had a drain that discharged to the outside of the rig when defrosting. This Norcold does not appear to have a external drain. I asked about this during the PDI and was told this was normal, but they could not tell me where it drained to. We took off the cover on the outside of the rig, and did not see a drain hose.
Is this normal, and if so, where does the water go?

Our dble door NorCold 1211 model drains into a small pan near the LP burner. Heat from the process evaporates the condensate. Originally, the pan had insulation covering it. I peeled it back a little to ease cleaning of the condensate tube.

Thanks, that's exactly where it was. Found the white drip tube with the little fitting at the end. Will extend this to outside the MH as I really don't like liquid dripping inside the coach (even if it is supposed to stay inside the cup).

BT's. DDG's. Dying breed. But you speak condensate.
So I mentioned to SWMBO that I had cyber spoken to another member of the "iron men on little tin ships" club.
She gave me the "look" and suggested at our age not much iron left. Still plenty of metal though, she says. Gold in your teeth, silver in your hair and lead in your a---.
Why do we have to put up with such sass?

Could only aspire to a luxurious DD.
Couple of old DE's. Re-designated as FFG's in '75.

So, I found the drain and plumbed it to the outside. Turned off the reefer and let the whole thing defrost. Found a big puddle of water in the freezer. Does the water in the freezer drain anywhere? I looked for drain holes, looked in The manual, and called customer service and still no real answer. CS said it should drain but did not know where or how and would get back to me. Nope.

The exploded view in my manual doesn't show a freezer drain. Neither has my diligent searching.
However, we've found that placing a thick terrycloth towel on the freezer floor when shutting down the fridge absorbs the resulting water.
A firm twisting motion applied to the wet towel drains the towel nicely. Best to remove from freezer first and twist over a sink or bucket. 🤪
Sorry, best I could do to make light of an apparent
design flaw.

So apparently you have the same problem?
Do I have to fold the towel as we were taught in boot camp or will any folding scheme work? I still fold my skivies the same way after 45 years.

Bad guy to ask about folding stuff. After 40 months pushing boots in Orlando, I have strong thoughts about folds and catch edges. If you are still rolling your socks, just make sure the right part faces the bulkhead.
