Running output on propane for a Champion 2000 dual fuel is 1,530 watts.
Most 13,500 A/C have a running draw of 1,250-1,350 watts. However starting up the compressor can create a load 3,000-3,500 watts. Micro-Air Easy start claims 60% reduction in start up draw with no change in running watts. So, it’s conceivable to run the A/C on a Champion 2,000 df with 1,530 watts propane output, I wouldn’t bet the farm on it. I have a Champion 2,500w dual fuel with 1,650 watts propane output. Before adding easy start it would trip its overload breaker when trying to start the compressor. After easy start install, it runs the A/C smoothly. JMO, even with no other loads, it may be a tall order for the Champion 2,000 on propane. Recommend, if possible, OP ask someone with an easy start if he could try to run their A/C on his generator.

Published specs for electrical devices are not always "dialed in", in the case of the 20 amps stated by GE that is the "minimum" circuit size recommended, not the actual consumption. We see this all the time, for instance a small wine fridge will use just over 1 amp but the published specs will read 15 amps and calling tech support you will get the same answer as the people don't know and don't understand these things. Often you have to get your specs off the name plate mounted on the unit itself.
As far as startup current, a locked rotor such as an AC compressor that has not started to turn yet can easily demand 5 or 6 times running current for a millisecond. This will not trip your HACR rated 20 amp breaker and the duration is so short that it won't stall most generators within reason. The purpose of the soft start is to eliminate this high startup current thus allowing for a smaller generator, nothing else. The running current will not change.
