As to being unused, my MH was parked in a barn for 8 years due to owners poor health. When I bought it, after purging the lines of air the ATwood WH started up normally.
Have you found the make/model of this WH?

Yes !
I think I recall mentioning that there was a tiny lump of Black junk on the inside of the Main Jet when I dismantled the fittings, I simply used my Mig cleaning wire to remove the Junk & then it ignited at the End of the Tube inside the Heater, and as worked well since then.
I don't purchase/swap pre-filled LPG tanks, I have fittings that I can fill my LPG tanks directly from the Browser, but my Mechanic friend has heaps of 3/4 full Vehicle LPG tanks that I decanter/siphon from into my Vapour Tanks, as when the 10year LPG Vehicle test is due, it is Cheaper & Quicker to replace the Vehicle with a New LPG Tank !
So I have over a years worth of LPG sitting in Tanks awaiting to be emptied & then we turn the old Tanks into a BBQ or Smoker, commonly we use empty LPG Tanks Under Shipping Containers.
Not sure What Brand is my Water Heat, other than what is on the images I posted on the previous page.
