I have spent the last month doing the same thing you're doing. I looked at several brands. My Journey has 235/80R22.5's. After looking at size differences and pricing, I settled back to the Michelin's. I used the FMCA discount and was within just a few dollars of most others. Mine are being installed on Monday. My main concern was the spacing between the rear duals.
Take a look at the Michelin XZE. The rep told me they were longer wearing and a little better for the sun. Yes $$$$. You get what you pay for. I can't change them while traveling anyway so I went with the best on my SuperNova.
I’d like to put the Michelin XZE 275/80R 22.5 on my 08 Journey but they’re a little bigger than the 255/80R that came on ii and are a H load rating. I know the newer models have a larger tire but they may be on a different Freightliner chassis and the coach may have more clearance than the 2008.
I find it interesting that the OEM Michelin 255/80R 22.5 G rating load limits at 110psi are EXACTLY the same limits of the MH...
When our Michelins XZA's aged out, we replaced them with XZE's.
The XZE's are a bit tougher & have more ribs on the sidewall. The Michelin Man was worn off the XZA's from hitting campground curbs etc.
They don't look as 'cool' as the XZA's, but the ride & mileage is the same (7-8 mpg). Very happy with them.
