New Tires

I am pricing around for new tires, I have Michelin now and even though I covered them and took care of them the side walls are cracking. Has any one purchased Sumitomo tires? they are a lot less expensive and I was looking for some thoughts.
Thanks,

We had Sumitomo steer tires on the coach when we purchased. They gave good service for around 7,000 miles with no problems. Took advantage of the FMCA tire programs with Michelin which saved a good deal. Good luck. We do like the Michelins.
Regards,
JB

The most expensive tire (highest rated one) I can find is the one that goes on my house foundation; Please don't skimp (shop for the cheapest rubber and put that on your House.) Why not just run on the rims. Now that is cheap;;

Thanks,
I believe JimM68 has Sumos on his Monaco Knight and has no issues. Im getting Hankooks 7 mounted/balanced for $1800

Don't think riding on the rims would be cheaper since those cost more than the tires do, plus the cost of road repair

I second the vote for Hankooks. I had them on my last coach and liked them much more than the Michelin's that came on my '11 Journey Express. I will go to them when I need tires on this coach.

I, also, have summitumo's on my RV, they are the ST718. No problems after two and one half years. Some people belief that the top brand tires are made in the USA, this is not exactly true. Their is a web site where you can check the point of origin.

Just got Hankook AH-12's for my Journey. Price was comparable to Toyo's and lower than either Michelin or Goodyear. Based on my research, Hankook makes an excellent tire with a good record of service.

Our OEM Michelins were made in Spain and did just fine for 8½ years. I replaced them with Michelins again.

Just replaced my 6 tires with the Michelin 235/80R 22.5 through the FMCA program. $2770 out the door.

I had a set of 2 year old GY directional steers on the front and 7 year old Michelins on the back. I know new tires should make a difference but they REALLY made a difference for me.

Don't know enough to say any other choices would have been better or worse except that what I have it darn good now.
