Both sides of mine came partially loose on our inaugural trip.

I purchased a small inexpensive bag of 6mm thumb screws on Amazon then drilled and tapped a hole in the bumper. I then discreetly marked the position of each so the slightly larger hole in each cap would line up with the drilled hole in the bumper. I didn't want my brand new trailer to look like some hillbilly went at it with a torch and sledge hammer. That cap will be there when I get to destination.

I did a similar modification to eliminate the horribly embarrassing hold down straps on our dinette top (2108 DS). One drilled and tapped hole at bottom and top of each table post (and a thumb screw) holds it in place securely. It's just the two of us so that table top will likely never be removed anyway.

Are you talking about the original caps or did you buy "Wirthco 30000 RV Locking Bumper Plug" from Amazon. The originals fall out so badly that I literally use mine for a paper weight (it's sitting on top my PC right now). The Wirthco caps don't come out unless the centre wasn't pushed in or you've got an odd sized bumper.

Nope.. just took the inexpensive approach and used the crappy original end caps. The material in the inner part is substantial enough that I'm confident it won't be coming loose.

I found some rubber ones that self lock by pushing the middle of the plug in.
