Is it the valence itself that you need to remove or is it just the shade to remove and repair?
I suspect you are missing seeing some screws which may be hidden behind the shade portion.
As an example, have you found the metal clips at the top which the shade snaps into?
Possible you need to pressup on these metal snaps to release them and then you may find screws to remove?
On replacing the shade, I find it best to tip the upper shade part to fit one side into the snaps and then "roll" the shade to snap the other side back into place.
Maybe see if that gets what you need?
Kind of guessing as we don't know what model of 2013 Vista, nor which window. More info may change the answer!
