Sewage hose storage for Via

Not many places to put a storage pipe under the Via, no where is is wide enough without obstructions. I am thinking about putting it North-South instead, parallel with the driver's side frame rail tucked in about 6" bolted to the storage compartment angle iron mounts. It will be accessible to remove/store the hose from the compartment that you open to get to the drain hookup. The only part I don't like is that it will be only 8.5" from the road, but measuring the drain that is only 8.5" from the road as well. Sound like a good plan? I really don't want to keep the nasty thing inside one of the compartments if I can help it.
