GFCI issues on 2017 Journey
The GFCI tripped on the bathroom/left side/outside circuit and would not reset. I turned off the breaker and replaced the GFCI outlet. The new one popped immediately and won't reset.
I can't get warranty appt. until 8/19. Any ideas of what I can look for in the meantime?

Sometimes the fridge 120 volt outlet is included in the circuit .
If the RV was just washed there could be enough dampness behind the fridge to trip the GFIC.
Other times , if the fridge has an ice maker in need of defrosting that can be the cause.
Unplug the fridge and see if the GFIC will reset.
I'm assuming you have an RV fridge and not a residential .

Fridge is residential on separate circuit.
Thanks

I'd be looking for possible damage to the wiring as it extends to power the outlets in the slide out.
There may be a junction box for the slide wiring , on the underside of the coach floor accessed from the basement , where the circuit wiring splits to the slide and the outside outlet. If there is a junction box open it, then disconnect and isolate the wiring there and try to reset the GFIC.

Those things are a PITA to trouble shoot. I'd start by removing the wires to the output side of the GFCI and see if it trips. If it does that is your problem. If it does not either pull all the outlets and tag and tape the wires. Reset the GFCI and it should stay on. If not you have something like a pinched wire somewhere. If it does stay on check each pair for the hot pair and install that back on the socket. Power back up and see if it works. If not you have your bad socket. If so then connect the output pair and check. Work your way down the chain to find the bad socket or section.

I saw 2 connectors on the schematic. They looked solidly connected. I couldn't find any junction boxes. One appears to be buried under sink....(not even going under there) I think I'll let the pro's figure it out. We can make do until then.

First thing I'd check in your situation is the patio (outside) outlet for moisture inside the socket. If there's not a good seal there, morning dew or rain can get inside, and it can hang around for days...

Hi Dave, did you down load all the schematics for your coach? I would check all the connections in the power panel, second make sure the outlet was wired properly from Winnie, I had the same problem with ours. We also had the problem with a ground at the power post. I think you still have my number any questions you can call or email if you want some help.

Thanks. It's under warranty, so I'm going to let the dealer fix it. It's not a show stopper.

I'm a firm believer in fix it yourself using forums such as this. Second option is to call a mobile tech. Your warranty will not pay for his/her trip charge, but will pay the repair cost. But you will not incure the fuel cost driving to and from the dealer plus a chase car round trip. Don't know if your Winne warranty station is around the corner or a two hour one way trip like mine. Do the math. But I find mobile techs much better than places like Camping World etc.

DaveLarkin, double check the wiring on the new GFCI not all of them are wired the same. Look at the markings on the GFCI and verify line and load wires are on the correct terminals. Been there.
