Door Hold Open 2014 Itasca Meridian

My door hold open bracket is no longer working. I got hit in the face this morning with a scrap from the bushing. Is there a way to replace the bushing? Or as a millionaire DP owner, I just shell out the ~$250 for a new assembly?

We were able to buy from PTL Engineering on their website and it was 119.76.
The part number is K001-523 (That was for our 2013 Journey)

Thanks!

That is a bit better than the Winnebago pricing. I did find one that is SS that I may consider as an upgrade.

Mine broke years ago and I wrapped a thin piece of hobby brass around the stud. It worked ok most of the time. This is a good temporary fix. I finally broke down and bought a new assembly from PTL, just need to install it now. Here's a link to the part I purchased https://ptlengineering.com/product/k001-523/

you can hack it to stay open but it is failing and will fall off

The part that broke is the weakest link but other parts are failing also and after a while (from personal experience) one end will break free and the door will be free to swing wide enough to hit your mirror or coach body.

You can replace it with the OEM part or I have seen some people put gas struts in but that takes some creative modifications. You can find pictures somewhere on this site.

I'm going oem. I don't want to drill holes above the door.

Thanks for all the input. I got body-slammed by the door the other night. A new one is on order from PTL Engineering. Some things are just not worth tinkering with.
