Dash A/C Switch Issue

Hello:

On my last outing, I discovered an issue with the HVAC switch, specifically when in the 'MAX AC' position. The fan works properly in all positions except the MAX AC position; in that position, the fan stops, with no air flow coming from the vents. In any other position, the fan works as it should.

I'm not sure if this is a workhorse Chassis part (GM) or Winnebago, but either way, I'm not finding a part number to search for a replacement switch. Not even sure that is the actual problem area but thought I'd start there.

Anyone here that has had this type of issue?

Thank you. -RT

We replaced our dash air receiver due to pinhole. Turns out Mercedes parts fit ours.

Chassis by Freightliner.

Usually, max air just closes a door or doors to prevent outside air from coming in while still sending signal to compressor, fan, erc.

Often, that whole array of climate control switches is a single module rather than individual switches. Easy snap in replacement. If you pull the array you'll see if individual or a module. Hardest part is figuring out how to pull the module/switch. Should also have a part # for cross reference printed on body. Individual switches for GM products in the $15 range. Modules in the $100 range.

I would assume that is a GM part. If it's not too difficult I would look to see if the AC compressor is turning off too. If it is, then it is likely the switch having basically lost that connection and "Max AC" is now basically a second "off" position. It does look pretty basic so it should be inexpensive, but there is also a rebuilt industry available for these components. I had to buy a much more complicated one for my SIL's 4Runner, the difference in price being about $200.

That's a great suggestion and one I hadn't thought of. Will check that out next time I'm at the RV storage.

Thank you. -RT
