Micro Minnie FLX 2108TB no power at "prewired" back-up camera

Hi Yall,

Running a 2018 Ford Expedition and towing a FLX2108TB and installed a Furrion S back up camera into the "prewired" port in back. It was super simple. Connected the monitor (works). Checked the camera off of the extra jack at the monitor (it works) but when I plugged it in the "prewired port" in the rear, it did not work. A multimeter shows no power to the 12V wiring at the backup port. Tried changing the headlight setting to see if a manual setting would work. All the other running lights work, just not the backup camera location.
Looking to see if anyone has the schematic for the location that the wire travels to so I can check the connection and or pull a new wire.

I decided to completely remove the shroud and rubber seal on the rear of the trailer to see if I could get a better look at the wiring for the "pre wired" backup camera location and in so doing was able to pull out the 12V running light wiring and the self splicing wire quick connectors. I opened the spicers and replaced the existing female 12V coupler with the one provided in the Furrion S package and it worked. (TIP: Do not shorten the wire of the new adapter. Its precoated with solder and it works great with the self splicer). Hope this works for you.
I was also told that I likely needed a Furrion Camera system 7 way Adapter power switch. $75 later it did not work. This adapter is supposed to correct an issue that some post 2020 trucks and vehicles have with power flow through their 7 pin connectors. I did not and so now I have one and its for sale. $50 used once.

I've seen these "pre-wired" options where the controlling fuse is omitted so the wire is not hot until the owner makes the installation complete.

Sorry I missed this

I had the opposite problem where the camera mount was connected to the hot wire used for the ceiling vent etc. in the rear of my towable 2327TB trailer. Camera had been on since the installation over a month ago and lucky it still worked I guess.

That same attack was used and with a bit of tuggin, found the running light multiple and made my correction not cutting the loop open. Discovered the lead out of the distribution panel marked rear of trailer had a red marker and the leads I discovered had a green marker.

Lessons learned that hard way.
