Generator Parts Please

The Onan dealer has pronounced my generator dead! Well he's wrong! The engine is just fine 49 hr and runs well--it just does not produce electricity. Does anyone have a 'junker' laying around I can get the Alternator (gen) parts from. 2.5KV-FA spec L ??? I am going to fix it with only 47 hours on the unit I will not go for buying a new genset!!
I know I need a voltage regulator but the Rotor and Stator were also pronounced as shorted. These parts are no longer available (obsolete) So I'll either re-wire them or replace the entire electrical end. Anybody have ideas???

look on craigs list and expand search to other areas around you. There are a couple on the tucson list but they are running and i think bigger than what you are looking for.
