Cool Solution for covering battery monitor

So I have the battery monitor that is common and looks like the one in the picture. It works great but at night it has an annoying green glow that lights up the camper and pulses. My son designed and 3D printed a cover for it and it works great.

Not sure if this is allowed so if it isn't I will edit the post to remove it. But he is raising money for going to the Engineering program at A&M next Fall and wwas wondering if anyone would want to buy a battery monitor cover. If so, send me a message and he can print one up for you and mail it to you. If you have a different sized monitor, he can probably design and print one for yours if you can get him the dimensions.

I too was annoyed by the backlight and great solution! There's a trick to turn off the backlight BUT if it's charging I think it always pulses light.

I wasn't aware of that option.

Yeah, that is the annoying part. And I have to give my son credit as he is looking for opportunities to help pay for his college.

I need to think about what other things in the RV need 3D printed parts....

There are a lot of expensive plastic parts on RV refrigerators. On the Dometics with the removeable freezers there are two clips and two hinges, they all break very easily and cost between $25 and $ 35 for each one so over a hundred for all 4 pieces.

Hmmm, I should point him at that. Not sure how well 3d print stuff holds up to freeze

I’d be interested. I’m not ad admin. but post the cost and shipping to see what happens.

He might model his business after this one: https://g-part.net/?v=7516fd43adaa
There are thousands of 3-D drawings on the web, and I don't think any of them are copyrighted.
I know one guy who has an old obsolete main awning. One end cap broke and there is none available, so he measured the old one and printed a new one.
I can forsee a successful business opportunity in your sons future.
